Long Island Alzheimer’s and Dementia Center Chosen as Long Island Elite’s Charity Partner of the Year

Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center Chosen as Long Island Elite's Charity Partner of the Year

The Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center is pleased to announce some exciting news! The organization has been chosen by the Long Island Elite (LIE) as LIE's Charity Partner of the Year for 2017. LIE, dedicated to fostering growth and development among Long Island's business professionals and emerging regional leaders, accomplishes its goals through programs and special events that support and raise funds for Long Island's nonprofits. Throughout this year, LIE will lend its support to Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center's mission, which is to bring awareness to Alzheimer's disease and related memory disorders. Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center's unique programs and services help improve the quality of life for individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and related memory disorders, and their caregivers.

Regarding Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center's charity partner designation, Tom Killeen, Esq., Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center's Chairman of the Board of Trustees, says, "We are extremely pleased and honored to have been selected by the Long Island Elite as its charity of the year. As a 29-year-old Long Island grassroots charity, Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center, whose dollars stay on Long Island to provide programs and caretaker services at all stages of dementia, the recognition and economic support from the LIE is greatly appreciated by us and all those to whom we provide our services."

Tori Cohen, Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center's Executive Director, adds, "Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center is so excited and honored to be chosen as the Long Island Elite's charity partner of the year. We feel that together, we can both make a difference in raising funds and awareness for Alzheimer's disease and other related dementias. Every dollar that is raised between our two organizations will go directly to our programs and services, and will make a tremendous impact on the Long Island families we serve on a daily basis. We believe the exposure we are being given at this time by our connection with Long Island Elite and their leaders, will help Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center successfully transition into our new home in Westbury."

Since its founding in 2002, Long Island Elite's commitment to charitable initiatives has had a positive effect on a wide-range of organizations within the nonprofit community here on Long Island. One fundraising endeavor includes LIE's annual Charity Masquerade, to be held later this year, on October 26, at Oheka Castle in Huntington.

Of this year's choice for charity partner, the LIE's President, Melissa Kaiser, says, "The Long Island Elite, LIE, is honored to have chosen the Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center, Long Island Alzheimer's and Dementia Center, as our Charity Partner of the Year for 2017. Dana’s personal interest in health and wellness ignites her passion to help execute impactful change in the nonprofit field.
