Healthcare Honoree, Hossam Abdel Maksoud of Community Care Rx
Hossam Maksoud is a globally experienced, value-driven health care business leader and is currently the Chairman of the Board for Community Care Healthcare Group, a holding company. "Affordable medication and access to healthcare for all" is a personal goal Hossam Maksoud has held dear to his heart since his college career. After completing his pharmacy degree at St. Johns, Hossam dove straight into making that goal a reality. In 1993, Hossam established Maksoud Pharm Inc.
With the revenues generated from Maksoud Pharm, Hossam was able to launch his long-term care pharmacy company, Community Care Rx. Community Care Rx serves a wide population, focusing mainly on nonprofit organizations that serve individuals unable to care for themselves. The motto of the company was altruism. Community Care Rx grew and helped many organizations provide a wide variety of healthcare services to those in need and now services the tri-state area. As a dual citizen of Egypt and the United States with extensive experience living and working hands-on in multiple continents, Hossam brings a unique perspective to his work. His global experience has given him an appreciation for the value of diversity and community philanthropy.
Outside of the business side, Hossam and his family established The Maksoud Foundation, which assists the elderly in obtaining medication they cannot afford. Hossam is also regularly active in politics, and when he's just relaxing, he's at home in Long Island with his wife and daughter. Hossam is also a board member of the Egyptian African Business Association (EABA).

Long Island Commercial Real Estate For Alzheimer's Awareness was initially formed over 25-years ago to raise funds for newborns and help prevent premature births. At that time, many of the committee members had newborn babies and decided to come together as a group for a cause near-and-dear to their hearts. Today, their children are no longer babies, and it seems many of them are now supporting senior adults suffering from Alzheimer’s, Dementia, and related illnesses. They decided to come together as a group for a cause near-and-dear to their hearts.
